Chocolate Cake

Whenever the word cake is uttered, the first cake that comes to anyone's mind is chocolate cake! It is also one of the most demanded cake at parties. And so chocolate cake comes first in our list of very easy cakes to make.

Ingredients

ѕ cup cocoa
1 cup boiling water
1ѕ cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs
1Ѕ tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla extract
1Ѕ tsp baking powder
1 cup milk
Ѕ cup vegetable oil
2 cups sugar

For Frosting

1 tsp vanilla extract
3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup milk
Ѕ cup (1 stick) butter or margarine
2/3 cup cocoa

Process

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Flour and lightly grease two 9-inch round baking pans. Take a large bowl and add in cocoa, sugar, baking powder, salt, flour, and baking soda, and mix well. Then add in oil, milk, eggs and vanilla. Again blend well and then beat on the mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, stir in boiling water and pour the batter into prepared pans. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, and when well baked, cool for about 10 minutes in the pan and then move to wire racks. For frosting, take a bowl and melt butter in it. When butter melts, add in sugar and milk, beat well. After beating, if it is not to the spreading consistency, add milk. When done, add in vanilla, mix well. Read more on chocolate cake recipes.
